Thanks Ewa for bringing this blog to my attention :-)
There is a universal need to transform our personal demons
of fear, anger, ignorance, jealousy, confusion, unwothiness, shame... the
aspects that Jung described as our shadow; those parts of ourselves that the
conscious mind deems unacceptable. It is the parts we don't want others to know
about, and yet they appear in our dreams or manifest in exaggerated form in
those around us.
We can see clearly those aspects in others but are reluctant
to own them in ourselves. However, we only have to look into the mirror of the
other to begin to make conscious the darkness within.
If we look at what we most despise in others, we usually see one of our own demons reflected back. We often ridicule and criticise others who embody something we are trying to repress in ourselves. I smile to myself when I recall a time when I heard myself say "I hate judgemental people!" Hmmmm...

When we repress the shadow we set up a battle within, tying
up energy and resources that could be put to far better use, we block our
experience of freedom. However, when we
name and recognise our inner demons, the magic of the light in the darkness can
be released. Our demons can become our daemons, good and benevolent spirits.
We have a horror of confronting the unacceptable parts of
ourselves and yet without the dimension of shadow we cannot reveal our
true nature, we remain in a uni-dimensional world. When we dare to embrace
the shadow, we have the opportunity to balance our inner and outer worlds, to
gain sovereignty over previously rejected parts and thus gain access to the
"I Can" power of the universe.
Shadow work can be painful, that is why we resist it, and yet it is the key to
freedom.
Jung said:"One doesn't become enlightened by imagining
figures of light but by making the darkness conscious." And Rilke said:
"Perhaps everything terrible inside us is, in its deepest being, something
helpless needing our help."
I have found it really helpful to allow
the vibration of the pair of divine names, #3 Ya Malik, Sovereignty
and #84 Malik ul Mulk, Passionate Vision to help me gently and safely bring
forth the power hidden within the shadow. These ancient root sounds from
the highest planes can activate an alchemical process, a magic that
invites miracles to happen.
Silently breathe the sounds Ya MALeek and Maleek
ul Mulk into your heart helping you to have the courage to allow the
power of the cosmos to come through you and release the magic of light hidden
within the darkness.
This work is potent, go gently and be patient with yourself.
