Nan Tien Temple - "Nan
Tien Temple known as “Southern Paradise” is the largest Buddhist temple
in the Southern Hemisphere. The temple focuses on the exchange of
eastern and western cultures; the interchange of the traditional and the
modern; and also the adaptation with the local communities."
We
passed this Temple on our way down to Gerringong and thought we might
like to stop and have a look around on our way back to Sydney, which we
did.
We packed the car with everything to take
back to Sydney, leaving our children, Ashlee and Traevis and Ashlee's
partner Jake at the house in Gerringong where we'd spent Christmas. They
would travel back to Sydney by train as there was no space in the car.
They decided to spend one more night in Gerringong.
Jordan and Meghan had returned to Sydney a few days before.
We would all meet up in Rodd Point where we'd stay until after New Year, so we could watch the Sydney New Year fireworks.
The
Temple was very busy as they had a festival celebration on. There was a
band singing and playing and stall with all kinds of goodies for
sale...and delicious food. Of course we were tempted by the smells and
had something to eat.
