My mother arrives from South Africa on Wednesday. I've not seen her for about 5 years as my stepdad has been, and still is, too ill to travel.
She desperately needs a break and after much um-ing, ah-ing and deep reflection, has decided to take some time out for herself and visit us.
It is such perfect timing as we have just sold our chalet and were planning on going down there to clear it out. It holds such lovely memories for all of us as we've spent many a great holiday there both with our children and with my parents. I know Mum misses travel so much - visiting all the wonderful places we visited together when our children were small. Amazing how the universe slots everything into place when the desire is strong enough.
So, we have decided to make her time with us a memorable one.
We leave on Sunday for France and are overnighting at Domaine de Poiseuil on the way there and back. We have booked tree house cabins with the option to have breakfast on the terrace of the tree house.
There are other options - a Troll Bivouac: a bed of love! or Caravan "Western": a tiny cocoon of "Bohemia" in the woods. We might have chosen either of these if it was just the two of us...
