After spending Sunday with my in-laws, my mum and I drove up to Swellendam where she and my stepdad live.
As we were driving, I immersed myself in the beauty of the surrounding countryside. Having, over the years living away, completely forgotten how gorgeous it is - little towns filled with lilac flowering Jacaranda trees and bougainvilleas, mountains, vineyards, Cape Dutch houses, quaint tin roofed houses and, of course, Goudini hot springs.
We arrived in the dark. I've not been to the retirement village before, so had no idea what to expect.
In the morning I made myself a cup of coffee and wandered through to the veranda and was confronted with the magnificent site of the mountain. How gorgeous!
